Sometimes when I click on the Start Menu it won't open. It flashes, but just plays dead. I have to reboot to get it back to normal. It will work for a few hours, or about a day, then dead again. I can use the windows key on my keyboard for shortcuts (i.e. win + r for run), but that's a pain. Also, sometimes some of the links inside the Start Menu won't work (such as the help and run). I can also right click for its menu.

start menu not opening
Is this a clean install or an upgrade? What is your system specs? The only thing I could think of that could be causing this is your video drivers. I would so a defragment of the hard disk and clean out your temp files. Also check the Event Viewer for any error messages. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

This is a clean install. It actually started within the first day. That is when I just browsed around the system trying to see what is where and all the new stuff. I believe you may be right on the video drivers, but that is only one possiblity. I will check out the event viewer. Thanks.
